FellowshipNorth Fond du Lac Oriole Athletic Complex By Aaron Sadoff
“There is Always Room To Make Things Better”, was wise advice from his dad and Supt. Aaron lives that credo in his work and in family life. While evaluating the roll that the school district would play in community life Sadoff and his team of citizens, teachers and board members determined that the outdoor athletic facilities were unsafe out dated and limiting to the athletic program at Horace Mann. A plan was developed and funding arranged through a federal no interest loan in the amount of $900,000.00 and additional funding to the tune of $850,000.00 from donations from the booster club, local businesses and individuals along with other sources which gave the school district the necessary funding for a complete makeover of the complex. The center piece is the Humphery Football Field but that is only the beginning. New additions include a track, score board, soccer, softball and baseball fields, bleachers and entry gate. Remodeling of the concession stand and restrooms was also completed by volunteers with an eye on a rebuild of these facilities in the future.
The theme of this and I suspect future endeavors is; Invest in Kids, Invest in Community and Showcase North Fond du Lac as a progressive caring community. The first event at the new Oriole Athletic Complex will be a football game this Friday evening with pregame festivities starting around five o’clock. The community is invited.
